Like the cancellation station on South Manitou Island, this is one of the more difficult places to get your passport stamped. Unlike South Manitou, you cannot take a day trip out to this island unluess you have your own boat. The ferry only runs once per day (and not every day at that). You have to plan on at least a one night stay in a primitive campgound. You can catch a ferry in the town of Leland.
Just like South Manitou, once on the island, you will be met by a ranger or park volunteer. It may take some work to get them to find their stamp. There is little call for it in this remote location.
While waiting for the ferry to return, you can visit a series of geocaches spread across the island.
