This impressive statue of Astronaut John L. "Jack" Swigert, Jr. (1931-1982) has evidently been moved to the train station in Concourse B, according to Sundevil1994.

According to the airport website, at 9,927 feet, Leadville, Colorado's airport claims the honor of being the highest airport in the United States. However, while the altitude at Denver International Airport (DIA) is not nearly so high at 5,141 feet, Denver qualifies as the United States' largest high altitude airport. Opened in 1995, this $5 billion facility is the largest airport in the United States, covering 55 sq. miles.DIA's main building is the Elrey B. Jeppesen Terminal, readily identifiable by its translucent fiberglass white-peaked roof (bad feng shui). Additionally, there are three concourses prosaically named A, B, and C. Passengers are served by 22 airlines, including United on which I was flying. While traveling to the 24th Annual Miami Book Fair International--the largest book fair in the U.S.--I had a four hour layover in the Denver International Airport. Congressman Elect. 1982. I had trouble getting the coordinates. Probably something to do with the construction of the terminal. I was able to get several photographs of the impressive statue and accompaning plaque/plaque base.
