While out for a drive on a lovely Fourth of July, I stopped in Port Gamble, Washington, where these two 50,000 gallon water tanks greet visitors entering town from the south.

A walking tour brochure for the town of Port Gamble states that the construction date of these towers is unknown, but were likely used to help prevent the spread of fire in this lumber town.
