The following information is from the fact sheet found on the equipment at the Fort Lewis Military Museum:
  • Weight: 8,800 lbs.
  • Height: 7'6"
  • Length: 16'4"
  • Width: 5'10"
  • Top Speed: 65 mph
  • Crew: 2 (driver and medic)
  • Weapons: None
  • In the mid-1960's the M-725 was selected to replace the aging M-42 ambulances. The truck was based on a commercial model of the Kaiser/Jeep pickup truck and was built on the M-715 military truck chassis. The vehicle proved to be more fragile than the old M-37 truck chassis and had a poor maintenance record. This vehicle only served in the Vietnam War and was phased out after only seven years of service with the Army.
    • Location restrictions:
    12-4, Wednesday through Sunday First must check in at main gate Visitor Center. Bring driver's license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and your social security number to receive clearance to be on the base.
