The citizens of Belleville, Sumpter Township and Van Buren Township dedicate this veterans memorial to all the men and women who have served in our armed forces in memory of those killed or missing in action and honoring all who have served in war and peacetime may this memorial be a consistent reminder to our future generations of how important veterans are to this community and to our country may we never forget the price of freedom and always strive for peace. Let this memorial forever stand of a token of our appreciation. No veteran shall ever be forgotten.
