It was on this hill that General Custer along with several of his men were killed in the the Battle of the Little Bighorn against Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors on June 25, 1876. On top this hill there is a monument where about 220 soldiers, scouts and civilians are buried. On the battlefield are monuments where individual soldiers bodies were found following the battle. The battlefield is now the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.
