The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy locomotive is a Class O-5-A Mohawk 4-8-4 Type and is a combination freight and passenger locomotive. The locomotive was built in 1940 by the C B & Q railroad shops. The locomotive weighs 290 tons and measures 106' 5" long with its tender. The drive wheels are 6' 6" in diameter. The locomotive is coal fired. The engine was put on display June 10, 1962. The locomotive is listed as a contributing structure in the Sheridan Railroad Historic District.
