This statue of one of the best known Russian artists stands in a park on an island between the Moscow River and the Vodootvodnyy Canal.

Ilya Repin, 1844-1930, was the best known and most versatile of the 19th century Russian artist movement known as the Peredvizhniki or the Wanderers. His works can be seen in Museums around the world but probably the largest collection is in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, a few blocks from this statue. Many of his works are shown in the Wikipedia article cited below.

The large statue is located in Bolotnaya Park, south of the Kremlin. It looks toward the Gallery across a footbridge over the Vodootvodnyy Canal.
