[FR] Cette borne est placée le long d'une ancienne voie romaine qui cheminait au pied des Vosges.
Ce type de borne, appelé borne milliaire, était placé tous les mille pas c'est à dire tous les 1481 mètres.
En effet, le pas romain est en fait un double-pas, ce qui correspond à environ 2 x 0,74m.
La borne a été retrouvée cassée en 3 partie. Aujourd'hui elle est redressée et maintenue par 3 agraphes métalliques. Le creux situé au sommet de la borne devait être le logement d'une statuette.
