Soldier Field is dedicated as a memorial to American soldiers who died in wars. It was officially opened on October 9, 1924, as Municipal Grant Park Stadium, but the name was changed to Soldier Field on November 11, 1925. It has gone through many changes in seating arrangements, and was completely renovated in 2003, but the dedication to the soldiers of Defenders of our Liberty and the Men and Women of the Armed Forces, remains.

Description of Memorial:
There is a large bronze mural of soldiers an their families (see photo) on the north side with a quote from John Fitzgerald Kennedy on the back "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
