Surf Bowl opened as a 10 lane bowling alley. Since that time they have made 2 additions. The first was adding 6 more lanes in 1964 and a cafe. The second addition happened in 1976 when they added an entire new side of 16 lanes. This is current as of today.
Surf Bowl has gone through many changes throughout the years. It has had many different names including Welcome Lanes & Bowl- O -Rama. The current ownership has been operating the bowling center for the last 6 years and has just recently completed a $200,000 remodeling of the bowling center (see the "Remodel" pictures at the bottom of this page). For the first time ever Surf Bowl is the proud owner of Synthetic Lanes! It should be pointed out that our new Synthetic Lanes "glow in the dark" under black lights! You can experience this during our XXTREME BOWLING every Friday & Saturday nights at 10pm.
Directions: Surf Bowl is located one block south of Oceanside Blvd. on Historic Pacific Coast Hwy.
