This smasher is actually a press that was used to roll Landstroms Black Hills gold. It's been fitted to press pennies now. The attendant takes your penny, and an additional dollar, and then using tweezers he puts the penny in at just the right moment and out comes the smashed penny.
There are two designs to choose from: Fort Hays with a buffalo on it, and Mt. Rushmore.
