Fair Haven Beach State Park is a multi-purpose park operated by
New York State Parks and Recreation. They have many picnic areas,
boat launches, pavilions, beaches, boat rentals, cabin and tent site
rentals, RV and camper sites, playgrounds, and walking trails. There
is an entrance fee per car, unless you have a golden park pass or
access pass.
Park Type: day use for visitors ends at 10 pm.
Activities: there is a multitude of things to do here:
camping, hiking, swimming, biking, canoe rental,
picnicing, boating, sunbathing, playground, etc..

Background: This state park was built back in the early 1930's
by WPA workers and by POW'S during WW II. Most of the cabins from that period are still standing, a tribute to the craftsmanship of the workers from that era.
