This marker has different titles and inscriptions on the front and back. The side facing the drive indentifies 66-acre Thompson Ledges Park as one of the first in Geauga County. The back side of the marker discusses the predominant rock in the park, sharon conglomerate sandstone.
The adjacent park has restroom facilities. It has no specific opening time in the morning. It generally opens between 8-9am when an employee opens the gate. It closes at sunset. There is a picnic pavillion at the top of the ledges and numerous picnic tables scattered throughout the informal trails at the base of the ledges. The place is still a very much undeveloped park and a great place to explore.
