Mrs. Billie Trimble Chandler traveled extensively throughout Asia. On her journeys, she bought many souvenirs. Then a museum was built to house them.

In an attempt to bring Asian Culture to Corpus, four rooms are sprinkled with trinkets from throughout Asia. Most aren’t labeled – the objects that are labeled are mostly from around the 1950s. The most interesting thing about this museum is something that appeals to kids (and bored adults). Upstairs is a room where you can wear traditional Asian clothing and play with traditional Asian musical instruments. Dressing up in kimonos and Vietnamese straw hats can be great fun if no one else is around.
