The Christiansburg Presbyterian Church was founded in 1827 by a group of early pioneers who chose to settle in the Valley of the New River. By the early 1850's the congregation realized that they would need a larger church to to handle the growing membership. The current church building located in downtown Christiansburg was erected in 1853 and has been in constant use ever since.
