Waveny Park, with entrances at 677 South Avenue and off Lapham Road, has 250 acres of parkland including Waveny House in the center which houses the office of the New Canaan Recreation Department. Waveny Park contains approximately 3.5 miles of jogging/walking trails, soccer, baseball, and softball fields, picnic area, platform tennis courts, Waveny Park Swimming Facility, and lots of open area. Waveny Park also contains the PowerHouse Performing Arts Center, The Carriage Barn, and The Lapham Community Center. The new Waveny Park Outdoor Pool opened in June, 2002. A new dog socialization area has been created. The park is also a premier site for platform tennis and features a disc golf course.
