U.S.G.S. 1428 FT B.M can be reached by traveling on RT 28 from Indian Lake, NY, head north on Chain Lakes Rd past the dam on Abanakee Lake. There is a foot trail that leads to the BM location.
There is a drill hole set in the very top of boulder (north of USGS Mark)

NOTE ABOUT DAY FOUND:
My brother and I were White Water Rafting the Indian River into the Hudson River. We had seen the bm on a topo map. We snow-shoed in after our rafting trip to find the bm.
