Typical French doors leading to small balconies dot the second and third floors of this 1811 house. The house was the setting for George Washington Cable’s 1873 story, “Sieur George.”

A notary, Pierre Pedesclaux, began building this house, designed by Barthelemy Lafon, in 1795. The house was completed by Dr. Yves Lemmonier in 1811.
