The bronze monument to MA1 John Douangdara and MWD Bart sits in the library of the Navy Memorial and Visitor Center. John is crotched down on a rock with a M-4 carbine machine gun in his right arm and his left hand is on Bart, who is laying down to his left. Both are wearing their tactical gear.
MWD Bart worked alongside John Douangdara and during a rescue effort, Extortion 17 was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade in the tail of leading to a crash killing John, Bart, 28 other Americans and eight Afgan soldiers on board.
