The NCGS description appears below. The referenced frame building has been destroyed. However, it's cement block foundations were visible when I visited the site, and were valuable in finding the mark.

DESCRIBED BY NORTH CAROLINA GEODETIC SURVEY 2001
THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 11.0 MI (17.7 KM) SOUTHEAST OF RALEIGH,
6.8 MI (10.94 KM) EAST-SOUTHEAST OF GARNER AND 2.7 MI (4.35 KM)
NORTHWEST OF CLAYTON. IN THE CLEMMONS EDUCATIONAL STATE FOREST.

PROCEED ALONG SR 1004 (OLD US 70-EAST GARNER RD) FOR 1.0 MI (1.61 KM)
EAST FROM THE WAKE COUNTY LINE TO THE SIDE ENTRANCE ROAD, THENCE NORTH
ALONG THE SIDE ENTRANCE ROAD FOR 0.14 MI (0.23 KM) TO A FRAME BUILDING
AND THE STATION.

MARK IS ABOUT 1 FT (0.3 M) HIGHER THAN SIDE ENTRANCE ROAD AND SET
FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. LOCATED ABOUT 85 FT (25.9 M) WEST-NORTHWEST OF
THE CENTERLINE OF SIDE ENTRANCE ROAD, ABOUT 171 FT (52.1 M) NORTH OF
THE CENTERLINE OF THE WAREHOUSE ROAD AND 29.4 FT (9.0 M) NORTHEAST OF
THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE FRAME BUILDING.
