The bridge is said to have been designed by Robert Mills, famous for designing the Washington Monument in Washington D. C.
The bridge features a 14 foot Gothic arch spanning Little Gap Creek. The bridge is no longer used, but at one point this was the main highway from Greenville north towards Asheville, North Carolina.
