I did an interview in Avilla Today on some of the History of the area and especially the things that were here in the hay day of Route 66.
According to Don Little a local lifetime resident this building now known as Bernie's Bar was once Flo's Tavern.
Her name was Flo Melugin and her Husbands name was Tom.
They operated the Tavern and the Hotel to the East 1 door down.
They also prepared food for visitors.
It was said that it might be one of those type Hotels for....well
This is up to your imagination.
Mr. Little said he has drank a few beers here as Flo's and Bernie's maybe a few too many sometimes he says.
I searched for a web site for it but did not find one for this particular place.
