This unusual animal crosses includes both an underpass and an overpass approximately a half mile apart. The combined underpass, overpass and high fencing provide safe passage for deer and elk, while also decreasing the hazard of animal-vehicle collisions for drivers. The nearby Southern Ute tribe helped track the migratory routes of the local herds to guide placement of both structures.
