ES: "LA SINAGOGA
Era un edificio de planta rectangular que contaba con una longitud de 20 m. y una anchura en torno a los 10 m., sostenido por pilastras de piedra adosadas a los muros laterales que eran de calicanto y cubierto por una armadura de madera que sujetaba un tejado a dos aguas.
La puerta principal de ingreso al templo probablemente estuviese en el muro occidental, tal y como suele ocurrir con escasas excepciones, en los demás edificios religiosos sefardíes, dando frente al lugar destinado a los libros de la Ley.
La sinagoga conquense contaba con una inscripción que aludía a la fe judía donde aparecen unos fragmentos del libro del Deuteronomio, que estaba realizada en yeso y que recorrería la parte superior del perímetro interior de la sala. En el fondo de la misma, es decir en el muro oriental, la parte más sagrada y venerable de estos templos, aparecía el nicho que albergaba el arca o armario (Hexhal) en que se guardaban los rollos sagrados de la Ley. A tenor de las evidencias halladas en las investigaciones, era una especie de dependencia adornada con yeserías policromadas, de las cuales algunos fragmentos han sido localizados en las excavaciones arqueológicas.
La sinagoga conquense fue destruida en el asalto a la aljama judía en 1391 transformándola en la parroquia cristiana denominándola Santa María de Gracia."

It was a building with a rectangular plant that counted on a length of 20metres and the width around 10 metres, supported by stone pilasters
attached to the lateral walls made of calicanto, being covered by a
wooden armature that supported a gable roof.
The main entrance door to the temple probably was on the western
wall, as it is usually the case with very few exceptions, in the other
Sephardic religious buildings, facing the place designated for the books of the Law.
The synagogue of Cuenca had an inscription that alluded to the Jewish
faith where fragments of the book of Deuteronomy appear, which was
made in plaster and that would cover the upper part of the inner peri-
meter of the room. At the bottom of it, that is to say in the eastern
wall, the most sacred and venerable part of these temples, appeared
the niche that housed the ark or cabinet (Hexhal) in which were kept
the sacred scrolls of the Law. The evidence were found during the in-
vestigations this cabinet was a kind of dependency adorned with po-
lychrome plaster from which, some fragments have been located in
the archaeological excavations. The synagogue of Cuenca was destro-
yed in the assault on the Jewish aljama in 1391 transforming it into the Christian parish named Santa María de Gracia."
