El museo, creado en honor del autor de El Quijote, recrea una casa de la época de su nacimiento y atesora una magnífica colección bibliográfica cervantina.”

BIRTHPLACE MUSEUM

This house, whose former main entrance stood on Imagen Street, is located on the Calle Mayor or Main Street of Alcala, previously known as the Main Street of the Jewish Quarter. The house belonged to the Cervantes family during the sixteenth century, and it was the place where Miguel de Cervantes was born in 1547, The museum, founded to honour the author of Don Quixote, recreates a house of that time, and is home to a splendid collection of Cervantine Bibliography.”
