"This Monday, at 5 p.m., the Slovak Club, located on 15th Street between Montevideo and 169 Berisso, will inaugurate a mural to the Immigration registered in our country during the first years of the 20th century.

This mural was made by students from the muralism workshop "La Tallera", led by Professor Cristian del Vitto, as part of the project of the Directorate of Culture.

It arose from a research work that involved the workshop leaders and representatives of the institution, in order to represent the identity of the Slovak people.

From there it was decided to make visible the encounter between two cultures: a man with open arms and a tool in his hand, which symbolizes our city and the factory; the figure of a woman that blends with a figurehead of a ship; and a baggage of Slovak elements such as the flute or typical foods that have poppy seeds as their main ingredient.

In the background, the yellow lilies, a typical Berissense plant, the ribbons with their traditional colors and the borders are intertwined.

A great challenge for those who intervened since, in a few meters, they had to capture a meticulous and coarse content sign to be observed.

It remains to be mentioned that at the end of the ceremony, a toast of honor for the work carried out is planned."
