"It is one of the largest natural forest masses in Spain and a space with a high biodiversity of flora and fauna, included in the Natura 2000 Network. As a whole, the area is particularly important for the conservation of the community of birds that nest on escarpments. (Egyptian vulture, golden eagle, griffon vulture, Bonelli's eagle, eagle owl...) and mammals from sub-Mediterranean pine forests (roe deer, deer, fallow deer, ibex, badger, otter...). Of its 75,000 hectares, practically half belong to the municipality of Cuenca, the rest to the towns of Arcos de la Sierra, Beamud, Húelamo, Las Majadas, Portilla, Tragacete, Uña, Valdemeca, Villalba de la Sierra and Zafrilla. In three of them there are interpretation centers of the natural park: Uña, Tragacete and Valdemeca."
