The lighthouse in Swinoujscie is the tallest lighthouse on the Polish coast - its height is almost 65 meters. It was built of yellow brick in the mid-19th century on the right bank of the Swina River.

Initially, the lighthouse had an octagonal cross-section, but difficult weather conditions in the area and sea salt necessitated its renovation.

During it, at the beginning of the 20th century, due to brick defects, it was decided to change the shape of the tower's cross-section to a round one.

Adjacent to the lighthouse tower are red brick buildings from the south and north - crew rooms and a place for the beacon equipment, because it is also a beacon emitting a radio signal in Morse code "SW" - dedicated to the city of Swinoujscie.

At the end of the 20th century, the last renovation of the entire facility was completed and in 2000 the lighthouse was opened to visitors. Round stone stairs lead to the observation deck.
