"El templo del Sagrado Corazón, en el Poblenou, es un edificio que, según parece, fue empezado ya a finales del siglo XIX, pero su construcción se prolongó bastante tiempo. El arquitecto utilizó muchos de sus recursos habituales, como el lenguaje neogótico simplificado o el campanario con un acabado que recuerda las torres del chalet El Pinar. En la fachada destacan los relieves (magníficas obras del escultor Eusebi Arnau, desgraciadamente mutiladas), con representaciones de escenas de la vida de Jesús que lo muestran ejerciendo la caridad para con los necesitados (milagros de las bodas de Caná y de la multiplicación de los panes y los peces)."

"Durante los años veinte se levantaron numerosas iglesias, algunas para sustituir a las que habían sido destruidas durante la Semana Trágica y otras, de nueva creación, en los nuevos barrios obreros que se iban configurando en Barcelona. Una de ellas fue la del Sagrado Corazón de Poblenou. Fue inaugurada por el obispo de Barcelona, ??Josep Miralles Sbert, en 1926. El templo resultó parcialmente dañado en 1936 y se restauró en 1940.

Es un edificio neogótico, de planta rectangular, con tres naves copadas con un ábside semicircular. Destaca el campanario, con pináculos y una afilada aguja, y la portada, con arquivoltas ojivales y unos relieves de J. Rosell con escenas del Nuevo Testamento (la boda de Caná y la multiplicación de los panes y los peces). También hay un mosaico que representa a la Virgen de Montserrat, obra de Olivé Milián, de 2002. Originalmente, había tres esculturas, obra de Eusebi Arnau, destruidas en 1936."

"During the 1920s, numerous churches were built, some to replace those that had been destroyed during the Tragic Week and others, newly created, in the new working-class neighborhoods that were taking shape in Barcelona. One of them was the Sacred Heart of Poblenou. It was inaugurated by the bishop of Barcelona, ??Josep Miralles Sbert, in 1926. The temple was partially damaged in 1936 and was restored in 1940.

It is a neo-Gothic building, with a rectangular floor plan, with three naves covered with a semicircular apse. The bell tower stands out, with pinnacles and a sharp spire, and the doorway, with pointed archivolts and some reliefs by J. Rosell with scenes from the New Testament (the wedding at Cana and the multiplication of the loaves and fishes). There is also a mosaic representing the Virgin of Montserrat, the work of Olivé Milián, from 2002. Originally, there were three sculptures, the work of Eusebi Arnau, destroyed in 1936."
