"The official opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 26, at seven thirty in the afternoon on the esplanade of the A Canteira dock. According to a statement made public yesterday by the Council, the Minister of Public Works, Xosé Cuiña, will be present. His department invested 286 million pesetas (1,718,894 euros) in Combarro. At the end of this event, the public entity Portos de Galicia and the Poio City Council will organize a popular party to which all residents of the municipality are invited. Popular celebration For its part, the A Solaina association has already closed the program of activities for its celebration events that will take place next Saturday, July 29. This group divides the party into two parts. From six to eight thirty, water sports will take place: a swimming tournament between the two docks, as well as canoeing and kayak-polo exhibitions. Next, there will be a presentation of gifts to three parliamentarians who, according to the directives of A Solaina, collaborated in the implementation of the work on the promenade. These are Ismael Rego (PSOE), Francisco Trigo (BNG) and Juan Casares (PP). This event will be held at the social premises of the Comunidade de Montes and includes several performances."
