EN: The Sri Manonmani Ammbal Temple is located on Miesernweg in an industrial area on the western edge of Trimbach.
The temple is mainly visited by Tamils who live in Switzerland. After they had already founded a small temple in the 1990s, they were able to acquire the property on Miesernweg after the turn of the millennium. The foundation stone was laid in 2006. The inauguration celebrations began in 2013, while work on the building continued. The 14-metre-high decorated tower was completed in 2019.
With a height of 14 meters and an area of 800 square meters, the Sri Manonmani Ammbal Temple is the largest Hindu temple in Switzerland and the second largest in Europe.
The inauguration of the temple was covered in various regional and national media, for example in the Luzerner Zeitung on March 18, 2013.
DE: Der Sri Manonmani Ammbal Tempel steht am Miesernweg in einem Industriegebiet am Westrand von Trimbach.
Der Tempel wird vor allen von Tamilen besucht, die in der Schweiz leben. Nachdem diese schon in den 1990er Jahren einen kleinen Tempel gegründet hatten, konnten sie nach der Jahrtausenwende das Grundstück am Miesernweg erwerben. Die Grundsteinlegung war 2006. 2013 begannen die Einweihungsfeierlichkeiten, während am Bau noch weiter gearbeitet wurde. Als letztes wurde 2019 der 14 Meter hohe geschmückte Turm fertig gestellt.
Mit 14 Metern Höhe und 800 Quadratmeter Fläche ist der Sri Manonmani Ammbal Tempel der grösste hinduistische Tempel der Schweiz und der zweit grösste in Europa.
Die Einweihung des Tempels wurde in verschiedenen regionalen und nationalen Medien behandelt, so z.B. in der Luzerner Zeitung vom 18.3.2013.
