"The meeting of the Local Government Board of the Council of Ourense held this Thursday served to give the green light to several public works tenders pending in some cases for years. This is the case of the reform of the Xardín do Posío, whose project was presented in September 2021. Its execution is put out to tender for 2,586,577.01 euros. The complete reorganization of this space and the renovation of the municipally owned cafeteria, closed since the summer of 2021 pending these works, are planned.
In addition, the Local Government Board approved the tender for two actions repeatedly committed by the mayor of Ourense, Gonzalo Pérez Jácome. It involves the humanization of Avenida de Portugal in the section that goes from Ervedelo to Rúa Valencia (for 2,778,983.39 euros) and the renovation of Alejandro Pedrosa Street (3,419,902.85 euros). In both cases, the works will be carried out with European financing from the Next Generation program. To all this we must add the tender also approved yesterday for the paving of Rúa da Canle to the limit of the municipality of Ourense for 621,357.81 euros.
Social entities
On the other hand, the Local Government Board gave the green light at its meeting this Thursday to three subsidies for social entities. Cáritas will receive 250,000 euros to support its dining room, the Food Bank will have 21,000 euros for its activities and the association of relatives of Alzheimer's patients (Afaor) will obtain 35,000 euros to organize cognitive stimulation workshops."
