Deze 44 ton zware T-72-B tank werd op 22 maart 2022 buitgemaakt door het Oekraïnse leger nadat deze tijdens een Russische aanval op Kyiv op een franse mijn was gelopen en zwaar beschadigd raakte.
Eind Februari 2023 werd de tank uit protest geplaatst voor de Russische ambassade in Berlijn.
Nu staat hij bij het vrijheidsmuseum als oproep om Oekraïne te blijven steunen en als waarschuwing voor de bedreiging die dictatuur en imperialisme vormen voor de vrijheid, democratie en mensen rechten.
Dit project is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met het Nationaal museum voor militaire geschiedenis van Oekraïne, het ministerie van defensie van Oekraïne, de ambassade van Oekraïne in Nederland, Berlin Story en het vrijheidsmuseum.

De vernielde Russische tank die enkele dagen op het Leidseplein heeft gestaan in Amsterdam is vanaf 5 juni 2023 weer te zien op het voorterrein van het Vrijheidsmuseum. Hier zal hij de komende maanden blijven staan. In maart 2022 werd de Russische 44 ton zware T-72B-tank tank ingenomen door het Oekraïense leger nadat deze tijdens een Russische aanval op Kyiv op een Franse mijn was gelopen en zwaar beschadigd raakte.

Het project van de tank-expositie is mogelijk gemaakt door een samenwerkingsverband tussen het Nationale Museum voor Militaire Geschiedenis van Oekraïne, het Berlin Story Bunker Museum in Berlijn en het Vrijheidsmuseum in Groesbeek. Het is een waarschuwing tegen Poetins nietsontziende oorlog die een levensgrote bedreiging vormt voor het vrije en democratische Europa. Tegelijkertijd is het een oproep om Oekraïne te blijven steunen in haar strijd tegen de Russische invasie."
