"A partir de hoy la diócesis de Barcelona contará con una nueva iglesia. La que en el cortísimo plazo de un año ha sido levantada en Santa María de Moncada. Toda la técnica y adelantos modernos, dentro del más elevado sentido artístico, han sido puestos al servicio de esta obra, para cuya realización no se ha regateado esfuerzo alguno. El nuevo templo está dedicado al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Constituye una verdadera obra de arte, merced a las creaciones con que esclarecidos artistas han colaborado a tan magnifica realización.
La talla de madera del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, ha sido ejecutada por José María Boñigas. También a su arte personalísimo se debe la bella imagen del Crucificado, la que puede reputarse de maravillosa concepción. Y también merecen elogios los diez retablos de policromada escultura que circundan la parte inferior del altar mayor. Los superiores, en cambio, se deben a José Mestres Cabanes. Son diez retablos que, con las pinturas del ábside, ofrecen un conjunto pictórico que presta al citado altar mayor una aureola artística realmente maravillosa. Una superación, sin duda, del creador del proyecto de ese altar, que lo ha sido Javier Carvajal Ferrer, de la Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid.
Federico Mares ha ejecutado para ese artístico templo una también muy bella imagen de alabastro de la Virgen de Santa María de Moneada, imagen que es una de las más acertadas muestras de ese arte personalísimo que le ha creado tantos admiradores.
La nueva iglesia que tiene ahora una capacidad para trescientos cincuenta fieles ha sido estudiada pensando en el futuro. De ahí que el altar mayor sea en su totalidad desmontable, para cuando así contenga a las obras de ampliación del templo. Hoy la altura de su fachada, hasta la cruz de la espaldaña, alcanza los veintisiete metros. Y en su campanario existen dos campanas, que fueron bendecidas cosa de dos meses atrás.
Este nuevo templo será bendecido e inaugurado hoy por el reverendísimo e ílusírísimo señor arzobispo obispo de Barcelona, doctor Modrego, con asistencia de nuestras autoridades."

The new church, which now has a capacity for three hundred and fifty faithful, has been studied with the future in mind. Hence, the main altar is completely removable, for when it contains the expansion works of the temple. Today the height of its façade, up to the cross on the back, reaches twenty-seven meters. And in its bell tower there are two bells, which were blessed about two months ago.
This new temple will be blessed and inaugurated today by the most reverend and most illustrious Archbishop of Barcelona, ??Dr. Modrego, with the assistance of our authorities."
