The Hawley Company was established in Central City, Colorado on March 8, 1880, Henry Hawley was the president of the company. The Hawley Company expanded by buying stores in Nevadaville and Cherry Creek. The Hawley Company discontinued its branch store a few years later and operated the original store which Henry Hawley managed until his death in 1923.
