It was tragic reality that a century ago many children of the early settlers in these harsh lands died after only months or even days of life. Many of these pioneer chidren were buried with little more than a stone to mark their grave, if even that. Those who care for this cemetery have set several identically-styled horizontal markers for these lost children. This example is between the two entrances, near the front (south) end of the cemetery, and is for the Infant Son of Dave & Ethel Tacket. Only the year is given - 1916. There are other Tacket children remembered with such marks, and several other similar grave stones (all with Doves of Peace in the upper left corner) for other families.
