El recinto amurallado, que data del siglo XIV, sigue el trazado del antiguo camino real. Se conservan unos 600 metros de muralla, que se construyó con piedra basáltica extraída de la colina del castillo, 200 metros de los cuales son paseables (camino de ronda)
La muralla es alta y está rematada con almenas cuadradas. Detrás de esta discurría el camino de ronda que comunicaba las torres. Estas son cilíndricas y semicilíndricas; se conservan diez de ellas, incluidas la del convento y la de los Frailes. El portal de Barcelona es una de las cuatro entradas a la ciudad amurallada.

The walled enclosure, which dates back to the 14th century, follows the route of the old royal road. About 600 meters of wall are preserved, which was built with basalt stone extracted from the castle hill, 200 meters of which are walkable (round path).
The wall is high and is topped with square battlements. Behind this ran the coastal path that connected the towers. These are cylindrical and semi-cylindrical; Ten of them are preserved, including that of the convent and that of the Friars. The Barcelona portal is one of the four entrances to the walled city.
