Puerta de madera de doble hoja, con aperturas más pequeñas para facilidad de uso, las hojas han sido contrachapadas y cosidas con clavos y pintada de color gris.
"Santa Maria de Hostalric es una iglesia del municipio de Hostalric (Selva) que forma parte del Inventario del Patrimonio Arquitectónico de Cataluña . La iglesia parroquial de Santa Maria está ubicada en lo alto del casco antiguo de Hostalric, justo debajo del castillo.
La iglesia tiene una única nave de planta rectangular (hay que decir que el primer tramo de la nave, en el lateral izquierdo, la capilla lateral sobresale del muro exterior norte), cubierta por cinco bóvedas de crucería que tienen las respectivas llaves de bóveda, y que están separadas por arcos fajones que refuerzan a la vez la bóveda. En los laterales se encuentran abiertas cuatro capillas a cada lado, con los arcos formeros de medio punto, y todas con bóveda de crucería con la respectiva llave de bóveda, excepto la capilla del Santísimo (la segunda en el lado derecho, que cuenta con un cuerpo adosado en la iglesia que la hace mucho mayor); y la primera capilla lateral derecha que encontramos al entrar en la iglesia. En la cabecera, poligonal, encontramos unas escaleras que conducen al camarín donde se encuentra la figura de la Virgen. Sobre el primer tramo de la nave hay un corazón.
Externamente, de la fachada destaca la parte conservada de la puerta de entrada barroca. La puerta de entrada, tiene sillares de piedra en las jambas y dovelas dispuestas en "montacavall". Coronando la puerta, una estructura típica barroca: En el centro, una hornacina con una concha en la bóveda de cuarto de esfera, donde está ubicada una imagen de la Virgen María con el Niño, protegida por un cristal.
Si bien el edificio actual es del siglo xv , la primera noticia de una iglesia dedicada a la Virgen María en este lugar data del año 1280. Durante la guerra de Sucesión (principios del siglo XVIII) la capilla de la Virgen de los Socorros que había al pie del castillo fue destruida. Por eso la imagen de la Virgen fue trasladada a la iglesia parroquial."

"Santa Maria de Hostalric is a church in the municipality of Hostalric (Selva) that is part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. The parish church of Santa Maria is located at the top of the old town of Hostalric, just below the castle.
The church has a single rectangular nave (it must be said that the first section of the nave, on the left side, the side chapel protrudes from the northern exterior wall), covered by five ribbed vaults that have the respective vault keys, and which are separated by transverse arches that simultaneously reinforce the vault. On the sides there are four chapels open on each side, with semicircular arches, and all with a cross vault with the respective vault key, except the chapel of the Santísimo (the second on the right side, which has a attached body in the church that makes it much larger); and the first right side chapel that we find when entering the church. In the polygonal head, we find stairs that lead to the dressing room where the figure of the Virgin is located. On the first section of the nave there is a heart.
Externally, the preserved part of the baroque entrance door stands out on the façade. The entrance door has stone ashlars in the jambs and voussoirs arranged in "montacavall". Crowning the door, a typical Baroque structure: In the center, a niche with a shell in the quarter-sphere vault, where an image of the Virgin Mary with the Child is located, protected by glass.
Although the current building is from the 15th century, the first news of a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in this place dates back to the year 1280. During the War of Succession (early 18th century) the chapel of the Virgin of Socorros that had at the foot of the castle it was destroyed. That is why the image of the Virgin was transferred to the parish church."
