"Adjacent to the Hermitage of Our Lady of Fuensanta in Corcoya are the caves of José María El Tempranillo. Shallow and located in a place of great natural beauty, they have been recently restored.

As their current name indicates, they are the caves that the Tempranillo used to hide when they came to visit the Virgin of Fuensanta, of whom he was very devoted, and the santero, his confidant. An ideal place to hide away due to the remoteness of the landscape, here in 1832 he received a pardon from King Ferdinand VII."

"José María Hinojosa Cobacho, called José María el Tempranillo (in the district of Jauja in Lucena, Córdoba, c. 1800/1805-Alameda, Málaga, September 23, 1833), was a rebellious Spanish bandit who acted in Serranía de Ronda .

At only 15 years old he began his life as a bandit. The cause of such a way of life is found on September 29, 1820 in the San Miguel pilgrimage, in which he killed a man.

Apart from his assaults and crimes, it was shown that he was not evil or a ruthless killer, like other known bandits. For example, he treated the ladies he robbed from very well. When he robbed a carriage, he was the first to help them down by offering his arm, then he took them to the shade and took off their jewelry while saying: "Such a beautiful hand does not need these jewelry."
