Jay D. Adams has a nice homemade dedication on a tree named for him in Delong Park in Bowers, PA. This is the most wholesome dedicated tree I have run across. I hope you all like it.

This is a family made dedication and it has a Pine Tree, a Tractor and a Locomotive as part of the homemade dedication sign. It makes you wonder, who is Jay D. Adams? Fortunately, his obituary provides some insight (link below the quotation). Jay had a passion for restoring tractors and model railroads. The Pine Tree probably represents his rural hideaway in Sullivan County, PA. There are lots of pine trees there.

"Jay D. Adams, 72, of Bowers, passed away surrounded by his family on June 23rd in his residence. He was the husband of Jane A. (Esterly) Adams and the late Sonja (Geist) Adams.

Born in Lyons, PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Catherine (Schlegel) Adams.

Jay worked for over 40 years as a Sheet Metal Fabricator and last worked in January of 2015 in Bally as a Woodworker and Cabinet Maker.

Jay was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers, PA.

He enjoyed model railroads and restoring old tractors. His love for his grandchildren was evident. Jay also spent time at his cabin in Sullivan County whenever he had the time.

He was predeceased in death by two brothers, Joel and Jon Adams.

Surviving in addition to his wife are seven sons: Troy A. Green, Jeffrey L. Green, Ricky J. Adams, Randy L. Adams, Austin B. Green, Scot B. Adams and Coray W. Adams; two daughters, Tracy L. Stevens and Susan L. Ireland; one sister, Jean Winkler; two brothers, Jerryl Adams, Jan Adams. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
