"La iglesia parroquial de San Pedro Apóstol está ubicada en la Plaza de España, principal plaza del pueblo. En la actualidad, la iglesia se encuentra en muy buen estado de conservación debido a que a lo largo de los años ha sufrido distintas remodelaciones y restauraciones.
Información histórica:
Oficialmente la edificación de la parroquia como tal se produce en 1624, aunque existe un documento en latín del año 1618 en el que ya se habla de la Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro, por lo que sería edificada algunos años antes, con “mezcla y piedra forrada con yeso”. Su titular es San Pedro Apóstol y el patrón, San José. Perteneció siempre a la diócesis de Córdoba. En 1.778 se repara y se amplía sufragando los gastos el propio erario parroquial con 18.000 reales.
En 1.897 se reedificó con una fachada encalada y sencilla, una portada amplia con arco de medio punto que se alza sobre una escalinata, y coronando la fachada, el tejado señalizado a manera de frontón con un óculo central y en su punta una cruz. La torre se cubre con chapitel en forma de media naranja y veleta.
Actualmente cuenta con un reloj instalado en 1948 y la contemplamos recubierta de ladrillo, obra que se realizó a principios de los años 70. La torre que hasta hace unos años tenía una cubierta triangular a cuatro aguas con decoración cerámica, ha sido sustituida hace poco tiempo debido al deterioro que sufría el tejado.
Un dato de interés para la historia de la parroquia es que en 1.915 parte de la feligresía rural de Iznájar (Córdoba) se incorpora a la parroquia de Vva. De Tapia, concretamente se trata de los vecinos del Arroyo del Adelantado y Fuente del Conde.
Respecto a su interior, éste ha sido muy remodelado. La iglesia cuenta con una nave principal y otra lateral más estrecha. El techo se cubre con artesonado de madera y tiene un coro elevado sobre la entrada.
En el interior podemos encontrar como imágenes más importantes las de Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno, imagen de vestir del siglo XVIII, con una talla de cara y manos muy conseguida y la de la Virgen de los Dolores, también del siglo XVIII, muy venerada por los “entreicheros”. Destacan también las imágenes de la Virgen de Fátima, San José, San Pedro, la Virgen de la Paz también llamada de la Soledad, un crucificado, un Cristo de la Columna, etc. La figura escultórica de más valor es una Inmaculada de escuela granadina del siglo XVII.
Una iglesia parroquial tan antigua como la villa, y que tiene uno de los archivos parroquiales más completos de toda la diócesis malagueña. Libros de bautismos y de matrimonios desde 1.626, expedientes matrimoniales de 1.741 a 1.983, libros de defunción desde 1.639, libros de testamentos, censos, memorias, etc., de 1.675 a 1.874.
En cuanto a Hermandades destacan La Hermandad del Santísimo Sacramento, con libros que abarcan de 1.662 a1 1.834; la Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús Amarrado a la Columna, de la que en 1.902 surgirá Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno y Virgen Santísima de los Dolores, virgen que se le acopla en 1908; y otras tantas.
En su archivo también destacan 22 padrones parroquiales, de 1.714 a 1.935; 1 legajo de documentos pontificios, regios y episcopales. Y aún hubiera sido más rica esta enumeración si un incendio en la parroquia, el 8 de septiembre de 1.799, no hubiera consumido parte de este material entre sus llamas."

It currently has a clock installed in 1948 and we see it covered in brick, a work that was carried out in the early 70s. The tower, which until a few years ago had a triangular hipped roof with ceramic decoration, has been replaced recently. due to the deterioration of the roof.
A fact of interest for the history of the parish is that in 1915 part of the rural parish of Iznájar (Córdoba) joined the parish of Vva. From Tapia, specifically, these are the residents of Arroyo del Adelantado and Fuente del Conde.
