Google Translation:
This barracks was opened on March 31, 2001 by
Mayor P.M.G.P Janssens
and the chief of the fire brigade
ing. H. Nijenhuis.

The stone plaquette can be found just near the entrance on the oudside of the building.

About the building:
There is a striking building along the dike from Hoorn to Enkhuizen. It is the Hoorn fire station that immediately catches the eye due to its elongated shape and color. The use of color and materials is inspired by North Holland farms; the black tarred walls are translated into the black brick plinth and the oxblood color of the hoods is reflected in the red-orange facade cladding. The plinth appears to support the upper floors without difficulty. The overhang at the entrance contributes to this apparent lightness. In the hall, the facade cladding continues inwards. This accentuates the entrance, which is further enhanced by the glass facade of the stairwells. In a barracks, safety and overview are key points. A lot of attention has therefore been paid to transparency and a recognizable structure, with a clear distinction between dirty and clean zones. The internal organization is visible through the many windows; you can see the rows of fire suits hanging from the dike. On the roof of the depot, transparent 'rooms' provide light into the rooms below. These give the depot an unusual appearance.
