Los vecinos de esta aldea tenían en mente construir un lugar de culto más cercano y accesible que la ermita de la Cruz de Magán, que ilumina y domina la sierra.
Así pues, con la ayuda y financiación de esta Cofradía, del Ayuntamiento de Iznájar y del obispado se comenzó a construir en 1985, con mano de obra también de los propios vecinos, lo cual le otorga un valor extra.
Se acabaría de construir allá por el año 1994.
Se sitúa en un recodo de la carretera, justo entre la salida del principal núcleo constructivo y el acceso para la subida a la Cruz de Magán.
En el interior se encuentra un sagrario que fue donado por unas monjas de Madrid para su inauguración.
