La station est implantée à l'intersection entre la rue Michel-Ange et la rue Molitor. Elle dessert 2 lignes:
- la ligne 9 (entre les stations Exelmans et Michel-Ange - Auteuil);
- la ligne 10 (entre Boulogne - Jean Jaurès et Chardon-Lagache1, au sud-est de la boucle d'Auteuil)
La station est ouverte le 30 septembre 1913 avec la mise en service du premier prolongement de la ligne 8 depuis Beaugrenelle (aujourd'hui Charles Michels) jusqu'à Porte d'Auteuil.
Elle doit sa dénomination à sa proximité avec la rue Michel-Ange d'une part, laquelle rend hommage à Michel-Ange, sculpteur, peintre, architecte, poète et urbaniste florentin de la Haute Renaissance (qui a également donné son nom à la station voisine Michel-Ange - Auteuil), ainsi qu'avec la rue Molitor d'autre part, nommée en l'honneur du comte Gabriel-Jean-Joseph Molitor (1770-1849), maréchal de France.

The station is located at the intersection of rue Michel-Ange and rue Molitor. It serves 2 lines:
- line 9 (between Exelmans and Michel-Ange - Auteuil stations);
- line 10 (between Boulogne - Jean Jaurès and Chardon-Lagache1, south-east of the Auteuil loop).
The station opened on September 30, 1913, with the first extension of line 8 from Beaugrenelle (now Charles Michels) to Porte d'Auteuil.
It owes its name to its proximity to rue Michel-Ange, named after Michelangelo, the Florentine sculptor, painter, architect, poet and town planner of the High Renaissance (who also gave his name to the neighboring station Michel-Ange - Auteuil), and rue Molitor, named in honor of Count Gabriel-Jean-Joseph Molitor (1770-1849), Marshal of France.
