Wooden pulpit in All Saints' church, Ashcott.
Located on the south side of the church, to the right of the chancel arch. The wooden pulpit dates from the 15th century and is mounted upon a stone plinth. The panels are decorated with Gothic-style blind arcading, and around the base a scalloped frieze. The pulpit is accessed by 5 stone steps.
The church is predominantly 15th century, but was much altered in the 19th century, particularly the broadening of the nave in 1831. Constructed of coursed and squared rubble, with freestone dressings, tile and lead-sheeting roofs and some coped verges with cruciform finials. The chancel and tower arches were both reconstructed in the 19th century.
