Wasserauen Bahnhof is a railway station in the district of Schwende-Rüte, in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. It is located on the 1 meter (3 ft 3+3/8 in) gauge Gossau–Wasserauen line of Appenzell Railways, and an "adhesion railway" which relies on adhesion traction to move the train. This is a commuter an tourist service, and Wasserauen is literally, at the end of the line. :-)

The station has half hourly service to Gossau train station via Appenzell via the St. Gallen S-Bahn. Connections to long distance services are in Herisau (to St. Gallen/Luzerne) and Gossau (for Winterthur and Zurich). The line has operated since 1912, with upgrades of the station and rail service several times.

There are many activities that are accessible here, including the cable car service to the top of Ebenalp, a paragliding business (folks probably paragliding down from Ebenalp), hiking up to the Seealpsee and further on to famous mountains such as Saentis.
