This steel rod bench mark has a protective metal collar with with a lid attached positioned over the steel rod. The center of the lid has text that reads: "Access Cover". Three other groups of text arch around the edge of the lid. The information given around the edge is as follows:

This metal rod bench mark is flush with the ground among tuffs of grass planted decoratively within the white gravel spread between the fence and the sidewalk. The fence is in 8-foot sections and this bench mark's collar stationed near the post supporting the 3rd and 4th section of horizontal fence boards. If the plants are kept trimmed low to the ground, this bench mark location should remain visible and easy to find. If the plants grow tall or if the white gravel ground cover is allowed to fill with weeds, then it could be harder to find. As it is now, you can see it from the street if you know what to look for.
