[FIN] Turku Energian muuntajarakennus Uudenmaankadun ja Kupittaankadun kulmassa on muuttunut Kim Simonssonin (s. 1974) valkoisten keramiikkatiilien myötä temppeliksi, jonka sisäänkäyntiä vartioivat vakavat pikkulapset. Muuntajarakennuksen takapuolella on mystinen peurojen kehä.

Kim Simonsson on aloittanut keramiikkataiteilijan uransa Arabian Taideosastoyhdistyksen vierailevana taiteilijana. Hänet on myös palkittu Vuoden nuori taiteilija -palkinnolla. Simonssonin teosten hiljaisessa olemuksessa on usein uhkaavuutta ja vaativuutta, mutta samalla hänen kuvakielessään näkyy populaarikulttuurin, japanilaisen anime-genren sekä science fiction -kirjallisuuden vaikutus.

Simonssonin teos valmistui Turun kulttuurikaupunkivuoden 2011 Savi kaupungissa -hankkeen projektina.

[EN] Turku Energia's transformer building at the corner of Uudenmaankatu and Kupittaankatu has been transformed by Kim Simonsson's (b. 1974) white ceramic bricks into a temple, the entrance of which is guarded by serious little children. At the back of the transformer building is a mystical circle of deer.

Kim Simonsson has started her career as a ceramic artist as a visiting artist of the Arabian Art Department Association. He has also been awarded the Young Artist of the Year award. The quiet essence of Simonsson's works often has a menace and demand, but at the same time the influence of popular culture, the Japanese anime genre and science fiction literature can be seen in his imagery.

Simonsson's work was completed as a project of the Turku Cultural City Year 2011 Savi kaupungissa project.
