"Its origin is very ancient, but its current appearance dates back to the 18th century.

The truth is that it is very loved by the people of Buenos Aires, since the Patroness of this town in the County is located there: Santa María Salomé.

Bonares can be seen, from the hermitage, in all its splendor. Its privileged location, at the top of the town, and the pleasant gardens that surround it make it a very pleasant place to take a walk.

The temple itself has a single rectangular nave with typical plinths of the area and a vault decorated with beautiful frescoes.

Of extraordinary beauty is the chapel of Santa María Salomé, decorated with murals and stained glass windows.

Curious in this type of religious construction is the quadrangular portico with a baroque style belfry.

The hermit's house is attached to the building and the person in charge of taking care of the hermitage lived there.

Every October, when the harvest traditionally ended, the patron saint festivities take place. It is then when the "fifths" (they are teenagers, they are of legal age, they were those who previously performed military service), make the "descent" of the Saint, carrying her on their shoulders to the local parish."
